I have been helping a friend restore an old Victorian townhouse in Philadelphia. Finding a window company that was willing to work with me on restoration, rather than just putting in vinyl windows, was difficult. I found Emerald Windows through angieslist. They are very knowledgeable, excellent and very cost-effective; they went above and beyond what I had asked for, advising and helping with some brick restoration in addition to their window-work. Their original work was done in 2007 and is still perfect. (I had similar work done by a handyman in 2008 and it fell apart within months.)

The absolute best price and service I found was a place called Emerald Windows in N. Liberties. They are great, build their own windows, and have really good customer service.

While I was still in the grip of the Historical Commission, Emerald did my wood windows. They did a great job, cleaned up everything. A really nice crew, too…They did all of the heavy lifting with the HC for me, provided the specs and shop drawings and all that stuff.
